Our new Legacy awards.

In today's episode, we talk about finding new coaches without using paid ads. We share three clever ways to get great coaches to join your gym. First, we discuss how to use local gyms' websites to find potential coaches. Second, we show you how to use Facebook groups to get personal trainer recommendations. Lastly, we explain how to use your email list to find and hire new coaches. These methods are easy and cost-effective, helping you build a strong team.

In this episode you’ll learn:

  • How getting organised improved our business

  • How to find coaches without spending a penny

  • Gym scraping: a practical approach to hiring

  • How to use facebook groups to find great trainers

  • Why leveraging your email list can help you hire coaches

  • Tips for hiring and keeping top coaches

#1 - Set the Milestones

The great thing about gyms is there are a million different ways to track progress.

  • Weight loss

  • Measurements

  • Personal bests

  • Session attendance

At Revamp, we decided to build our Legacy awards around how many sessions members attend.

After all, consistency equals results. And results equals retention.

So, the milestones we track for every member are:

  • 100 sessions

  • 250 sessions

  • 500 sessions

  • 1,000 sessions

One of our members recently hit 100 sessions!

Based on our membership, it takes about 8 months to reach 100 sessions.

And 8 years to hit 1,000!

That’s why we will elevate the prizes as members unlock new milestones.

For example, if a client sticks around for eight years, another t-shirt won’t cut it…

We’re going to pull out all the stops and gift an all-expenses-paid holiday.

#3 - Arrange Mini-Award Ceremonies

Why do award ceremonies stop when you leave school?

All our Legacy members deserve special recognition.

That’s why we decided to hand clients their prizes in front of other members.

This makes the milestone more special and inspires others in the room to achieve the same result.

#4 - Praise in Public

The ripple effect that comes with celebrating your members is awesome.

After one of our members, Faith, received her t-shirt, I posted her milestone in our client group.

The comment section filled with messages of praise from other members.

This brings the community closer together and sets the tone for new clients.

#5 - Community = Marketing

A mentor once gave us a piece of advice I’ll never forget:

Make your marketing your “client marketing”.

In other words, celebrate your gym community and let others peer in via social media and wish they were part of it.

Having an award system in place like this achieves that.

Final Words…

Owning a local fitness studio is a lot of fun.

Not least because you get to transform people’s lives and spoil them for their achievements.

A public display of appreciation goes a long way in a small community.

So, don’t let those moments pass you by.

Pay attention to the people inside your gym.
