How We Manage Social Media For Our Gym

Our Secret System For Creating Consistent Organic Content

Read time: 2 minutes

Dear Fitpreneurs,

Posting consistent content is hard when you own a gym.

When we launched last year, we were so busy, we ended up posting nothing on socials.

But now we’ve built a system that produces better content, high engagement and more sales.

And the best part? It costs just £25 per month.

NEW EPISODE

Building A Fully Booked Semi-Private Personal Training Studio w/ Alex Povey

We went on Alex Povey’s Remote Coaches Podcast last year and chatted about building a fully booked semi-private personal training studio. We shared our journey from personal trainers to studio owners, and the strategies we used to start our brick & mortar fitness business. We dived into how we leveraged local communities, the importance of marketing, and the benefits of creating a unique client experience. We also discussed the challenges we faced early on, including the decision to step back from coaching online PTs to focus on expanding our business.

In this episode you’ll learn:

  • How we licensed gym PT spots in our early career

  • The impact of live events on the growth of our coaching business

  • Our insights into the fitness business coaching industry

  • Why we moved away from coaching online personal trainers

  • The story of why we opened our first semi-private studio

  • Strategies that worked wonders in our launch campaign

  • Our future goals and expansion plans for Revamp

#1 - Create a Content Competition

We hold a monthly competition where our team captures content during their sessions.

These usually include session videos, happy selfies with members, and quick workout tips.

Our coaches then upload these into a shared folder where I decide what makes the cut for our Instagram.

We sent this message our in our team WhatsApp group.

#2 - Offer a Gift Voucher Prize

Without an incentive, our team would question why they need to take photos and videos.

That’s why we offer up the prize for a £25 meal voucher at a local bistro.

It’s across the road from our studio and our team love eating breakfast there between sessions.

At the end of the month, whoever captured the content with the most “likes” is then awarded the prize.

Kieran won July’s competition with his after-session selfie!

Why This Works

Most social media managers cost £200+ per month.

They often disrupt business by shoving a camera in your customers' faces.

Clients hate this and it’s awkward to manage.

With our system, we leverage the trust our coaches have with clients.

Plus we incentivise them for the 5 seconds it takes to get their phone out to capture a special moment.

All this meaning we never spend more than £25 per month on social media.

As they learn what gets the most likes, our coaches start curating content based on what works online.

Final Words…

Most local gym owners need to realise that organic content alone won’t make them sales.

But having a steady flow of posts will support the sales process.

That’s why we didn’t want to overspend on this side of the business.

We wanted to build an efficient system that ensures consistency and quality.

And I’m pleased to report I think we’ve found it.

That’s it from us. Reply any time…
