Why Youā€™re Not Making Sales

You canā€™t make sales when you donā€™t have people turning up to sales calls.

You end up talking to yourself and people in the coffee shop will think youā€™re weird.

But you can add some secret ingredients to your sales process to make someone turn up (and therefore make lots more money).

Why is it important people show up to a sales meeting?

Letā€™s say you close 30% of your prospects and collect Ā£250 upfront for your offer. Tidy.

But only 40% of your prospects usually show up for their sales consultations.

Youā€™d need 20 appointments booked to sign up 2 new clients.

But what if we could increase the show up rate by 10% (through our magic powers)ā€¦

Now out of 20 appointments, 10 show up and you close 3 new clients.

A small 10% increase could land you 1 new client paying you Ā£250/mo.

THIS is why we love marketing. You can tweak parts of your sales funnel and it could turn into an extra Ā£3,000 a year in new client revenue. Minimal effort = maximum returns.

But weā€™re not gonna sit here and give you a load of numbers and expect you to believe us.

Instead, we thought weā€™d give you the exact steps we added last year to increase our show-up rate to over 80%!

It involves 3 major components:

  1. FAQ funnel

  2. Follow Up System

  3. Selfie Video Reminder

Letā€™s dive into eachā€¦

1. FAQ Funnel

Those who have subscribed to the newsletter for a long time will know we harp on about this one a lot. The premise is very simple. Our sales process follows something like this:

Conversation (DM) ā†’ Triage Call (Qualify) ā†’ Strategy Call ā†’ Client

We were finding it tough to fill the gap from Triage Call to Strategy Call so we added a questionnaire in-between and had it redirect to a FAQ landing page.

This added a nice touchpoint and meant we could cover objections disguised as questions.

For example, ā€œThis isnā€™t the right time for meā€ turned into ā€œHow do I know this is the right time for me?ā€. People would watch these videos, feel more at ease and therefore turn up to their appointment.

2. Follow Up System

The mistake we see a lot coaches make is that they celebrate a booked call but then become disheartened when the prospect doesnā€™t show up.

ā€œTheyā€™re so rude! Iā€™ve put aside this time for them!?ā€ theyā€™ll often tell us.

Our answer? ā€œItā€™s your faultā€.

This might sound harsh but if you havenā€™t followed up with the prospect prior to the call multiple times, then you expected them to show up (big mistake).

Set up email/text reminders or take a screenshot with their name on a Google Doc with the captionā€¦

ā€œCanā€™t wait to chat with you {NAME}! Just finished all my prep for our conversation. Itā€™s going to be awesome!ā€

If you havenā€™t got a tie down that theyā€™re showing up, theyā€™re not showing up.

3. Selfie Video Reminder

Perhaps our favourite weapon and hardly anyone weilds it. It takes 30 seconds and will make a huge difference in your sales process.

The morning or day before the sales consultation, film a quick and personalised selfie video. Say something likeā€¦

ā€œHey {NAME}! Canā€™t wait to chat with you today at {TIME}. Weā€™re going to chat about {X} and {Y} and give you a plan you can implement straight away. Iā€™ve spent some time going through a plan that I know will work for you so canā€™t wait to discuss it in-person. See you at {TIME}!ā€

Simple but effective.

Applying these 3 ingredients will get more of your prospects showing up for their appointments with you.

And the more they show, the more money you make. Donā€™t settle or become complacent. If your time is as valuable as you say it is, do more to protect it ;)
