Why Our Membership Card Is Keeping Money In The Town & Attracting New Members
Read time: 2 minutes
Dear Fitpreneurs,
We make it our mission to support local businesses.
Us independent guys need to stick together.
But unfortunately, there isn’t a real incentive for businesses to support each other.
Until now.

The First Steps To Launching Our New Fitness Studio
In this episode, we talk about the early steps we’re taking to get ready for the launch of our new fitness studio. We share the challenges we've faced so far and how we’re planning to fill it in less than 2 months. From organising fun and engaging events for our members to focusing on building a real sense of community, we discuss what sets our studio apart from the rest. Whether you're thinking of starting your own gym or just curious about the behind-the-scenes of launching a business, there’s plenty here for you.
In this episode you’ll learn:
How we’re preparing for our upcoming launch
Ideas for engaging our members inside the gym
How we're planning to stand out from other gyms
Our thoughts on building a fitness community
What’s next in our launch journey
#1 - Our Membership Card
Long time subscribers of the newsletter will know we had a crazy idea to create our own membership card.
The idea is simple.
We give our members the card.
They get discounts from partnered businesses.
We keep money in the town.
Everyone wins.
#2 - Knocking On Doors
When we first came up the idea, we secured the partnerships by knocking on doors.
This ended up with a lot of rejection.
Turns out not a lot of local business owners want to offer discounts.
Sure, we had lots of people agree to do it.
But it was an uphill battle asking people to slash their prices for two strangers.
#3 - One Post Created The Demand
With a shorter launch timeline for Revamp #2, we needed a speedier process.
The location is 1 hour away from us both.
And we didn’t have time to knock on doors this time.
So we used the engagement in local Facebook groups to get business owners to "apply" instead.
This psychology hack led to 50+ businesses get in touch wanting a piece of the pie.
Plus we limited it to one business per industry.
Which obviously led to some healthy competition in the comments.

This was what we posted in local FB groups.
#4 - Streamline The Process
Keeping up with all the inbound was time-consuming.
So I whipped up a quick form and asked these business owners to apply.
This simplified everything and gave us a dedicated partner database in Notion.

We now have a growing database of local businesses we partner with.

Final Words…
We now have 19 businesses on our list of partners.
All these amazing people are offering our customers money off their services.
This becomes a huge value add for becoming a member at Revamp.
Plus it means we can refer people to independent businesses and fly the local flag!
That’s it from us. Reply any time…
