What Makes a Perfect Facebook Ad?

If you’re a local personal trainer, you have a deadly advantage.
For years, business coaches have been telling you to go online.
And whilst there is a lot of opportunity on the “world wide web”, it’s never been easier to eat up a local market.
We’ve started running FB ads for a select group of local trainers …and the results have been pretty staggering.
But here’s the problem…
Most local personal trainers suck at Facebook ads.
But that makes it easy to make money when you’re good.
It helps when you know what makes a perfect ad. Here's what we always look to include in every piece of creative we produce:
Offer
We always use Hormozi's M-A-G-I-C formula where we can.
"Summer" is the magnetic reason why the prospect should sign up now, "shred" is the goal and "challenge" is the container. Click here to create your offer.
Promise
We like to include the promise somewhere on the ad to help the prospect visualise their future. Again, this fits in with the formula above.
Guarantee
We de-risk the offer on the front-end with a guarantee, detailing the conditions once someone's in the funnel. We usually do this on the appointment FAQ page. (More info on this here)
Avatar
We always run local ads to either men or women (never both). This allows us to refine creative accordingly and try different angles. We also always make sure we call out the avatar AND the location. Double whammy.
Urgency
We make sure everyone knows this is a limited time offer. We can often do this without needing text. For example, 🔥 emojis grab attention and the colour red signals danger.
Captions
We use big bold captions that span 2 lines. The reason we keep to 2 lines is so people have plenty of time to read and not switch off. We've tried single line/one word captions for ads, and it doesn't have the same effect.
Relevancy
Do you know those ads you see of local trainers standing in-front of local landmarks? As corny as they are, they WORK. There's a reason so many people do them. We've tried others but clicks and opt-ins are always a higher when people can see something they instantly recognise. No need to work hard to build "know, like and trust".
Bonus tip
This isn't in the actual ad creative but incentivising your current clients to share their wins and transformations in the comments of your ads is a GREAT way to increase leads. We have 2 clients that do this very well and the results show it.
Of course, you're not going to be able to include all these elements all the time.
But being mindful of what makes a high-converting ad will help you consistently get the results you're looking for and build your authority in your local area.
